HB-1212 would expand South Dakota law to treat crimes against an unborn child the same as crimes against a born person (with specific exceptions for miscarriage and certain life-saving medical procedures for the mother), and it would also allow a wrongful-death lawsuit for the death or injury of an unborn child (for the benefit of the mother or lawfully married parents).
