“So you shall not pollute the land in which you are… for blood pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, except by the blood of the one who shed it.”
—Numbers 35:33
We live in a nation stained with the blood of its children. And that blood is crying out.
Every sidewalk outside every clinic is soaked with the silent screams of our smallest neighbors. We paved them over with laws. We silenced their voices with instruments. We justified their deaths with talking points. And now we dare to wonder why the foundations of our civilization are collapsing beneath us.
Abortion is not just a personal choice. It is a national abomination. It is not just sin. It is covenant treason against the King of kings. And the God who sees in secret will not turn a blind eye.
Blood Has a Voice—and God Hears
When Cain slaughtered Abel, God confronted him with these words:
“The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.” (Genesis 4:10)
Blood speaks. It testifies. It brings charges before the court of heaven.
And what does the blood of 65 million murdered children say? What does the blood of a generation, offered up to the gods of convenience and autonomy, declare to the Judge of all the earth?
It says: We hated Your image.
It says: We did not want You to reign over us.
It says: We spilled the blood of our sons and daughters, and called it freedom.
Their blood does not fade with time. It accumulates. And it cries out for justice.
The Land Is Defiled
You don’t get to kill image-bearers with impunity and expect the land to remain clean. God has told us explicitly what happens when blood is shed:
“You shall not pollute the land… for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made except by the blood of him who shed it.” (Numbers 35:33)
Abortion is not a private matter. It’s a public defilement. It pollutes our land, defiles our courts, corrupts our leaders, and poisons our blessings.
The curse is not future, it’s present.
We see it in the insanity that passes for policy. We see it in the cowardice of the pulpits. We see it in the confusion that reigns in our institutions, families, and even churches.
The foundations are shaking because innocent blood cries from the ground.
And the Judge is listening.
National Sin Brings National Judgment
The prophets understood this. When the people sacrificed their children to Baal, God didn’t merely call for personal repentance, He declared a national reckoning.
“They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons. They poured out innocent blood… and the land was polluted… Therefore the Lord was angry with His people and abhorred His heritage.” (Psalm 106:37–40)
That wasn’t just Israel. That’s America. That’s every nation that pretends you can destroy the image of God and avoid the wrath of God.
God does not judge nations for bad economics. He judges nations for spilled blood and institutionalized iniquity. And abortion is both.
We don’t need revival slogans. We need national repentance. And we don’t need sentimental apologies. We need justice established in law.
Our Fathers Knew This—and Feared God
There was a time when the church trembled at the Word of God. When we believed that national sins brought national judgments. When we preached about covenant curses and divine wrath.
Our forefathers knew what we have forgotten:
“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalm 9:17)
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)
We’ve not only forgotten God, we’ve legislated rebellion against Him.
We’ve framed injustice by statute (Psalm 94:20). We’ve codified murder as medicine. We’ve thrown away equal protection and replaced it with legal partiality. And we’ve done it all with a straight face, thinking God won’t notice.
He sees. He weighs. And He will repay.
The Curse Is Here
This is what judgment looks like.
When God gives a nation over, He doesn’t always send fire from heaven. Sometimes, He gives them what they want.
He removes understanding. He confuses the wise. He lets tyrants rise. He makes them eat the fruit of their own choices. He darkens their minds and hands them over to destruction.
“Because they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He gave them up…” (Romans 1:28)
We are not awaiting judgment. We are living in it.
Repent and Do Justice—Or Else
“Rescue those being taken away to death…” (Proverbs 24:11)
“Establish justice for the fatherless…” (Isaiah 1:17)
The blood cries out. The land is polluted. And the Church has been far too quiet.
We must repent of our apathy. We must stop pretending that voting “pro-life” is the same as establishing justice. We must stop accepting incremental injustice as a political win.
We must call abortion what God calls it—murder.
We must treat every human life as equally valuable—from fertilization.
We must reject partiality, reject pragmatism, and reject the compromise that has kept this holocaust alive for more than fifty years.
Let the Blood Be Atoned For
There are only two ways for the blood on this land to be answered:
- By the blood of those who shed it—through divine judgment and destruction.
- By the blood of Christ—through national repentance, Gospel reformation, and equal justice for all.
“The land cannot be atoned for except by the blood of the one who shed it.”
The only hope for America is that the blood we have shed would be covered by the blood that was shed for us.
There is no neutrality. There is no third option. We repent and do justice, or we will perish under the judgment we deserve.
