“They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons…”
—Psalm 106:37

Abortion is not a medical procedure. It is not about “healthcare.” It is not even chiefly a legal or political matter. It is religion. And like all religions, it has a god, a theology, a doctrine of sin, a priesthood, sacraments, and a vision of salvation.

Abortion is the high sacrament of the religion of self. Its altar is sanitized, its rituals are clinical, but its god is as old as Eden: “You shall be like God.”

1. The God: Autonomy

At the center of this religion stands man, not humbled before his Creator, but enthroned as sovereign. The god of this age is the Self. Its highest virtue is autonomy, the right to do what is right in one’s own eyes (Judges 21:25). This is the religion of humanism, feminism, expressive individualism, and moral relativism, all streams feeding into the same polluted well.

Abortion is not merely tolerated in this religion. It is revered. Because nothing asserts one’s godlike autonomy more than the power to kill the fruit of one’s own womb.

“This is my body,” she says, not in remembrance of Christ, but in rejection of Him.

2. The Sin: Limitation

Every religion must identify the problem. In Christianity, the problem is sin, rebellion against God. In the religion of abortion, the problem is limitation.

A child is the great intruder. A baby demands sacrifice, time, money, transformation. A baby slows the climb up the corporate ladder. A baby interferes with sexual “freedom.” In this religion, dependence is detestable and obligation is oppressive.

The great heresy of abortion’s religion is the suggestion that a woman should be anything other than self-governing, self-sufficient, and self-defined.

To embrace the role of mother is not a glory. It is blasphemy. The cardinal sin is to be constrained by one’s biology. The fetus becomes a parasite. The womb becomes a battlefield.

3. The Salvation: Death

In this anti-gospel, salvation is achieved not through self-denial, but through self-exaltation. Not by dying to sin, but by killing what threatens the reign of self.

The cross is traded for the scalpel. The blood that speaks a better word is replaced with the blood that cries out from the ground.

This is the great reversal of true religion. In Christ’s Kingdom, the King lays down His life for the undeserving. In abortion’s religion, the undeserving are laid down to preserve the life of the self-made king.

“They love death” (Proverbs 8:36). But the Gospel of Christ is a message of life, and life more abundantly.

4. The Sacraments: Blood and “Choice”

Every religion has its holy rites, sacred rituals that unite its adherents to its core doctrines. The central sacrament of abortion’s religion is, fittingly, the shedding of innocent blood.

Abortion is not a necessary evil. It is a celebrated virtue. It is codified in law, heralded in film, shouted with pride, and mourned only when it is restricted.

The “choice” is the eucharist of the self. And when a woman publicly declares that she has aborted her child, she is treated not as a sinner needing mercy, but as a martyr needing applause.

“Shout your abortion,” they say, because confession is evangelism in this cult. The ritual must not only be performed; it must be praised.

Planned Parenthood is the cathedral. Politicians are the high priests. Hollywood is the choir. And every election is a liturgy to keep Moloch’s fire burning.

5. The Prophets: Deceivers of the People

No religion functions without teachers. The religion of abortion has plenty. They wear lab coats, black robes, and campaign pins. They come with diplomas and fake compassion, but their message is ancient: “You will not surely die.”

These false prophets twist language to disguise murder as mercy. They teach the people to call evil good and good evil. They erase the image of God in the unborn and replace it with meaningless phrases like “clump of cells” or “reproductive healthcare.”

These prophets deserve the rebuke of Jeremiah:

“They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.” (Jer. 6:14)

They have not spoken for God. They speak for Baal.

6. The Judgment: Coming Swiftly

God is not mocked. He sees every drop of blood. He hears every silent scream. He weighs the hearts of nations and repays according to their deeds.

The religion of abortion will fall. It may wear the mask of science, but it is spiritual war. It may parade as progress, but it is ancient paganism reborn. Its temples will be torn down. Its gods will fall face-first before the Ark of Christ’s presence.

“He will execute justice for the fatherless and the oppressed…” (Psalm 10:18) The question is, will the Church stand with Him, or against Him?

Conclusion: Come Out and Be Separate

Abortion is not merely a personal choice. It is a public worship service at the altar of man. It is sin with liturgy. Murder with doctrine. Religion with damnation.

The Church of Jesus Christ must tear down this stronghold, not with carnal weapons, but with the Word of the living God. We must expose the false gods, demolish the idols, and proclaim that salvation comes not through killing, but through Christ crucified, risen, and reigning.

The kingdom of self must fall. Christ alone must reign. And the blood of the innocent must no longer cry out from our land, because justice has been established in His name.
